SARALAND, Alabama

State officials are really counting on that boom to hold the oil back from the beaches and other sensitive areas of Alabama.
But if by chance they don't work, there will be a lot of clean-up ahead.

So far, the coast guard has been using skimmers and dispersants to remove some of that oil from the Gulf of Mexico but there are many other methods to get the job done.

Aaron Oil Company in Saraland says poly propylene pads which can just soak up the oil and make beach clean up go a little easier.

Also, recycled paper that has been treated can be used and can just soak up the oil and leave nearly clean water behind.
